Allen W. Fortna Allen W. Fortna, 57, of Whitehall, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. He was born February 9, 1957, in Gettysburg, PA, the son of Madelyn (Smith) Fortna and the late Wayne B. Fortna. He was a former member of the First Lutheran Church in Chambersburg, a 1975 Chambersburg Area Sr. High School graduate and 1979 graduate from Shippensburg University, and received his MBA from The University of Indianapolis. He worked at T.B. Woods Co., Martin Sprocket and Gear and later at Pennsylvania Crusher. Allen was a board member of The Egypt Memorial Park and a supporter of the Chambersburg YMCA. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Brenda (Huston) Fortna; son, Alex Fortna; stepson, Dustin (Mrs. Emme) Rickabaugh; grandson, Jackson Rickabaugh; sister, Mrs. Sue (Bruce) Majer; niece, Mrs. (Jonathon) Melissa Weigand; and two nephews: Daniel Majer and William (Dori) Majer. Al was successful in business, but at his core, he was a family man. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, uncle and grandfather, but above all else, Al was a "Dad." For those looking to find an example of a great father, Al Fortna was your man. He was truly the best example of a father's love, giving endless time, attention, and encouragement to his cherished son. He will be greatly missed. A service celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the W.F. Sellers F.H., 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
