Emma H. Martin Emma H. (Hege) Martin, 86, of Waynesboro, died Friday evening, January 31, 2014, in the Waynesboro Hospital. Born October 8, 1927, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Amos S. and Amanda (Horst) Hege. She and her husband, the late Ivan D. Martin, were married on July 26, 1947 in Greencastle. They moved to Ridge Road in 1949. Mr. Martin died on March 9, 2001. Along with her husband, Mrs. Martin owned and operated the former Rocky Ridge Farm Market in State Line, Pa. for almost 30 years. She was a member of Salem Ridge Mennonite (Community) Church, Greencastle. Mrs. Martin enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening, working on puzzles, and the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by five daughters, Charlene Marquiss and her husband Thomas of Greencastle, Marlene Eckstine and her husband Mark of Waynesboro, Linda Hott and her husband Phillip of Waynesboro, Cindy Farrow and her husband Doug of Shermansdale, and Brenda Heisey and her husband Marlin of Osterburg; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one brother, Amos Hege of Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Mary Edna Eckstine; one great-grandson, Alex Hazel; two sisters, Ruth Heatwole and Anna Kuhns; and eight brothers, Paul Hege, Mark Hege, John Hege, Noah Hege, Enos Hege, Adam Hege and infant twin brothers. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in Salem Ridge Mennonite (Community) Church, 441 Pensinger Road, Greencastle, with Pastor Ed Hampton, Pastor Curtis King, and Pastor Brian Emery officiating. Burial will follow in the adjacent church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, and one hour prior to the services Wednesday morning in the church.
