Faye Landis Brannan, affectionately known as "G.G.", passed peacefully into her heavenly rest on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Sarah Todd Memorial Home. She was surrounded by her caring nursing staff. Born on July 29, 1926, Faye was the daughter of the late Simon and Kathryn Fink Landis. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John W. Brannan, Sr.; an infant son; her brother, Merl Landis; and sister, Doris Hughes. She is survived by her son, John, Jr. and daughter, Alice Faye, both of Shippensburg. She is also survived by her grandsons, Gabriel A. (wife, Marjorie) Shope of Shippensburg, and Patrick B. (wife, Katie) of Scotland; three great-granddaughters, Katherine Lorraine Shope, Elizabeth Faye Shope, and Margaret Ann Shope; one great-grandson, Nicholas Brannan Shope. Also surviving are her beloved nieces, Carole Landis and Lynne Jacobs; and her beloved nephew, Mark Hughes. Faye was a 1944 graduate of Middletown High School and a graduate of the Harrisburg School of Nursing in 1947. During World War II she packaged pilot bomber jackets for the military in Middletown. Once married she lovingly cared for her children. Additionally, she was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing her produce with her family and friends. Faye's greatest love was her family. She enjoyed making meals for them and playing with her grandchildren and later on her great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Walnut Bottom with a visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Rehobeth Cemetery. The Rev. Harold A. Bolyard will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the
