Florence M. Helman, 78, of Harrisonville, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg. Florence was born in Harrisonville, on January 6, 1934, the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Barbara (Valentine) DeShong. She was the widow of Marshall "Pete" Helman whom she married in December of 1988. She was a member of the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, the VFW Post# 655 Ladies Auxillary of McConnellsburg, and was a retired activities aide from the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg. Mrs. Helman is survived by daughter Debbie K. (wife of Bryan) Fletcher of Harrisonville, son Cary D. (husband of of Georgianna) Hann of Little River, TX, daughter Karen M. (wife of Clifford) Price of Harrisonville, son Alan R. Hann of Harrisonville, aunt, Bernadine Brant of McConnellsburg, grandchildren, Krista Streletz, Jeremy Fletcher, Brandon Fletcher, Amelia Vandeventer, Reuben Douglas Hann, Jessica Hann, Nicole Price, Kathleen Hann and ten great grandchildren. Preceded in death by brothers, Donald Lee DeShong and Wilmer F. DeShong. Religious Service at McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, McConnellsburg, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 5th, 2012 with Pastor John Godissart and Pastor Dan Porterfield officiating. Interment at Asbury United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville. There will be visitation on Friday, May 4th, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg.
