Genevieve Marie Wood, 87, a resident of the Quincy Home, formerly of Upper Strasburg, died on the morning of Friday, August 3, 2012. She was born on November 20, 1924, in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of the late Ervin H. and Ina L. Banker Ferris, where she graduated from high school. Genevieve married Frederick A. Wood in Binghamton. She became a homemaker as they started their family together, as well as performing her pastoral spouse duties after Frederick became a minister. Genevieve was an excellent musician, playing both the piano and organ. Genevieve is survived by two daughters, Janet S. (Kenneth T.) Cichowicz of Upper Strasburg and Dianne M. Wood; and one grandson, Casey K. (Danielle) Cichowicz of Alexandria, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Frederick A. Wood, who died on May 28, 1997. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Chaplain John Winckler will officiate. Interment will be the following day in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY. Viewing will be Tuesday afternoon from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
