Loretta G. Ashway Obituary
Mrs. Loretta G. (Martin) Ashway, 70, a resident of Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, and formerly of 169 Groffdale Drive, Quarryville, St. Thomas, and Greencastle, died at 10:35 A.M., Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in the nursing home. Born March 21, 1942 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Alice (King) Martin. She lived her early life in the Greencastle area. She and her husband, the late Paul D. Ashway, Jr., were married on April 22, 1959. Mr. Ashway died on May 8, 1996. Mrs. Ashway enjoyed flower gardening, gospel music, and the time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Paul D. Ashway and his wife, Tamara of Lancaster, Robert L. "Bob" Ashway and his wife, Jeanette of Lemasters, and Chris D. Ashway and his wife, Sara of Chambersburg; six grandchildren, Bethany, Kaitlin, Lauren, Rachel, Carly, and Gage; one sister, Judy Martin of Greencastle; five brothers, David Martin of Clear Spring, MD, Ira Martin of Hagerstown, MD, Rick Martin of Greencastle, Terry Martin of Hagerstown, and John Norristown; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Naydean Matthews; and two brothers, Jim Martin and infant Kenneth Martin. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 in Greencastle Church of God, 4480 Buchanan Trail West, Greencastle, with Pastor Floyd Myers officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Saturday morning, in the church.
