Mrs. Trudy Jean (Gilbert) Harnish, 50, of 3015 Anthony Highway, Chambersburg, PA, passed away at 8:12 P.M on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA with her family at her side. Born September 29, 1961 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of Alfred E. Gilbert, Sr. of Pond Bank and the late Janet L. (Bumbaugh) Gilbert who passed away July 6, 1998. She spent most of her life in the Pond Bank area. Mrs. Harnish was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1980. She also attended Franklin County Career and Technology Center where she studied cosmetology. She and her husband, the late Mr. Curtis Lee Harnish, were married September 29, 1984 in Pond Bank. They had lived at their current residence since 2001. Mr. Harnish passed away November 11, 2006. Mrs. Harnish had been employed at Knouse Foods, Gardners, PA, for the past several years in shipping and receiving. She previously was employed as store manager at Henicle's Market in Fayetteville, PA for a number of years and at Duffey's Market in Pond Bank. She was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge#842, Chambersburg and Camp Le Paul in Truman, PA which is a family camp. Mrs. Harnish enjoyed dirt track racing. In addition to her father, she is survived by her step-mother, Debra D. Gilbert of Pond Bank; five children, Travis L. Thomas of Shippensburg, PA, Shane A. Gilbert at home, Brett C. Harnish of Fayetteville and Lindsey L. Harnish and Lara L. Harnish, both at home; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Jeanie Johnston of Pond Bank; four brothers, Terry E. Gilbert of Greencastle, PA and Alfred E. Gilbert, Jr. Stanley A. Gilbert and Duane A. Gilbert, all of Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 2, 2012 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA, with Pastor Murray B. Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, Quincy, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Monday, in the funeral home.
