Carl L. Fisher, 83, of Fayetteville, departed this life on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in the Select Specialty Hospital of York. Born April 8, 1929, in Scotland, he was a son of the late Charles J. and Ida Ross Fisher. A US Navy veteran of WWII, Carl retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in 1972. Following his retirement he went on to work at Dice's Tire Shop in Carlisle until 1991. He was a member of Oscar M. Hykes Post 223 American Legion in Shippensburg. His wife of 61 years, Dorothy Guyer Fisher, preceded him in death on November 22, 2009. Surviving are two sons, Terry Fisher of Fayetteville; Carl Fisher, Jr. (and wife, Stephanie) of Walkersville, MD and special friend Ron Silva; grandsons, Scott and Joseph Fisher; and great grandsons, Terry and Todd Fisher. He is also survived by five brothers, Charles R. Fisher of Chambersburg, Raymond L. Fisher of Scotland, Joe M. Fisher of Scotland, Jack E. Fisher of Chambersburg, and Jay C. Fisher of Upper Strasburg. In addition to his parents and wife, Carl was preceded in death by a grandson, Carl L. "Butchie" Fisher III; one sister; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, April 21, 2012 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, with the Rev. John Cook officiating. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
