Violet N. Evans Violet N. Evans, 85, of Chambersburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2014, surrounded by the her family. She was born Friday, April 6, 1928, in Fannettsburg, the child of the late Russell and Lydia (Campbell) Black. She retired from Shippensburg University Bookstore. She was a member of the Mainsville Church in Shippensburg where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Ken E. (husband of Joanne) Berrier of Carlisle, Kay (wife of Lloyd) McKenrick, Chambersburg, Stephen Evans (husband of Rose) of Springfield, Vt., Barbara (significant other Kevin Stum) Brookens, Chambersburg, Mark Evans, Chambersburg; grandchildren, Donald Fisher III, Tim Berrier, Stephanie Klinger, Kelley Pearson, Clair O'Donnell, Thailand Ferren and Ashley Ferren; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Boggs. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles W. Evans; two brothers, Randall and Thomas Black; and grandson Brian McKenrick. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 23 at 2 p.m. at Mainsville Church, 1354 Mainsville Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
