Harvey D. Martin Harvey D. Martin, age 92, of Chambersburg, passed away March 19, 2014 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born November 8, 1921 in Hagerstown, MD to Harvey and Anna (Myers) Martin Sr.. After the death of his father, Harvey lived with his aunt and uncle, Samuel & Maggie Diller. He was married to Helen Lehman Martin on Jan. 25, 1942. Harvey had been a farmer for most of his life and had worked for E.C. Barnes after he left farming. He was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church in Chambersburg. When he had lived in Path Valley he attended Shady Pines Mennonite Church, where he served as a deacon for twenty-three years. He is survived by his wife of seventy-two years, Helen L. Lehman Martin and their five children: Dale R. (husband of Loretta) Martin of Waynesboro, Eldon J. (husband of Betty) Martin of Chambersburg, Larry L. (husband of Harriet) Martin of Drexel Hill, PA, Freda M. (wife of Marlin "Butch) Neil of Spring Run, and Evelyn R. (wife of Joseph) Runk of Spring Run. Harvey has ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He is survived by two sisters and one brother. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Pleasant View Mennonite Church with Rev. Harold Yeager officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be held at Pleasant View Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be sent to Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 346 Warm Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. 17201. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, PA will be handling the arrangements.
