Lewis M. Geiman Lewis M. Geiman, 86, of Chambersburg, passed away in the Penn Hall Nursing Center on Friday, April 18, 2014. Born October 3, 1927, in Chambersburg, he was the last of his immediate family, the son of the late John L. and Grace V. Over Geiman. Mr. Geiman was employed for 34 years at Letterkenny Army Depot, where he served as a Quality Assurance Specialist, retiring in 1984 with a total of 39 years of federal service. A U.S. Army veteran, he served honorably for four years during WWII. He ended his service obligations with the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Geiman was a member of the 1946 class of the former Chambersburg High School. An avid outdoorsman, Lewis especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a life member of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW, Post 1599, NARFE, Chapter 1063, and the Chambersburg Mall Walkers club. Surviving is his wife of 10 years, Edna Statler Geiman, whom he married on August 14, 2003; his daughter, Mary Ann Schreiber of Wanfried, Germany; a step-daughter, Barbara Getis of Rye, N.Y.; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Edita M. Nowak Geiman, who he married on July 22, 1948, in Eschwege, Germany; and seven siblings. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:30 a.m., where the Rev. Darlene Stouffer will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Military honors, provided by members of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW, Post 1599 Honor Guard, will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
