Ruth E. Pine Ruth E. Pine, 84, of Mercersburg, passed away Saturday April 26, 2014 at her home. Ruth was born April 4, 1930 at Cove Gap, a daughter of the late Harry and Nora Hays Fritz. She retired from Letterkenny following over 20 years of service. Ruth was a member of Clayton Memorial Church of God, Mercersburg. She enjoyed crochet, hunting mushrooms, hunting, fishing, and spending time with her family. Surviving family include three daughters, Virginia M. & husband Don Fisher of Ft. Loudon, Helen I. & husband Sheldon Glessner and Sharon K. & husband Melvin Martin both of Chambersburg; three sons, Bruce P. & wife Gloria Pine, Ronald E. & wife Debra Pine, and Robert A. & wife Debra Pine all of Mercersburg; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Guy Fritz of Greencastle; and a special friend, Marlin "Ben" Bender of Fayetteville. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Pine, a daughter, Marie Heinbaugh, a granddaughter, Susan Pine, and brothers, Ralph and Paul Fritz. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday May 1, 2014 at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg with Pastor Floyd E. Myers officiating. Burial will be at Stenger Hill Cemetery, Ft. Loudon. Viewing 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care or Lutheran Home Care & designated to Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
