Ray F. Salmon Ray F. Salmon, 88, of Chambersburg, passed away May 13, 2014, at Manorcare Health Services. He was born June 1, 1925, in Chambersburg to Clifford and Alice (Leedy) Salmon. He was married to Charlotte Hollar Salmon. He attended Chambersburg High School. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Eldridge. He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot. Ray is survived by his wife of 67 years, Charlotte Hollar Salmon and their two children, Barbara R. (wife of Norman) Lauffer of Fayetteville and Phillip G. (husband of Patty) Salmon of Eldersburg, Md. Ray is survived by three grandchildren, Chari Lauffer, Shelly George, and Phillip Salmon II, as well as four great-grandchildren. Ray is survived by a sister, Patricia Stevens; and three brothers, Paul (husband of Betty), Ronald (husband of Peggy) and Robert (husband of Beverly) Salmon. He was preceded in death by one sister, June Frank; and three brothers, William, Joseph, and Jess Salmon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4 till 6 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be held at Salem Cemetery. The Honor Guard of VFW Post 1599 will conduct graveside military rites. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA will be handling the arrangements.
