Dorothy J. O'Brien Dorothy Jean (Lecron) O'Brien, 78, of Waynesboro, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in York Hospital. Born December 7, 1935, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lewis and Susan Grace (Musselman) Lecron. Mrs. O'Brien graduated as Valedictorian from Quincy High School with the Class of 1953. She and her husband of almost 57 years, Mr. James Edward O'Brien, were married May 31, 1957, in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg. They had lived at their present residence since 1973. Mrs. O'Brien was a homemaker and had previously been employed at Stanley Company and the Unemployment Office, both of Chambersburg. She was an active member and volunteer at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro, where she served on Parish Council. She also had served on the Franklin County Election Board for many years. Mrs. O'Brien enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida and Europe, gardening, reading, cooking, playing cards and Sudoku. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Patricia Ann Wise and her husband, Richard, Teresa J. Wile and her husband, Steve and Stephen J. O'Brien, all of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Holly Paisley, Kerry Snyder, Randy Wise, Mike O'Brien and Derrick Wile; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna G. Egolf of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald M. O'Brien, who passed away June 23, 1993. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, with the Rev. John Bateman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, where a Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Andrew School, 213 E. Main St., Waynesboro PA 17268.
