Nancy G. Colbert Nancy G. (Teal) Colbert, 76, originally of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 in Harrisburg. She was born May 19, 1938, in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Chester V. and Bessie (Marcellice) Teal, Sr. She was a life member of the John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church, where, as a child, she sang in choir. Later, she became a member of Laural Temple #519. Nancy was a 1956 Graduate from C.H.S and earned her Associate Degree in Accounting for Yorktown Business Institute. She worked a variety of jobs, the last of which was C.E.E.D, a program of the Y.W.C.A. Her interests and passions include her grandchildren, cooking, Bingo and winning the lottery. She was a champion of the underdog, an advocate of the less fortunate. Surviving her are her six children: Larry "Dex" Colbert, Chambersburg, Kim (wife of Raymond) (Colbert) Sease, York, Concetta (Colbert) Mitchell, New Cumberland, Vanessa Colbert, Harrisburg, Wayne (husband of Darlean) Colbert, York, Nancy "Twinkle" (Colbert) Watkins, York; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; eight siblings: Stanley Teal, Bessie "Twila" Carter, Chester Teal Jr., Ludell Teal, Josephine Teal, Jonathan Teal, Vincent Teal, Sadie Teal; and a host of cousins nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard T. "Dickie" Colbert III; and four sisters: Louise Teal, Bonita Hawkins, Mary Lawes and Trudy Ann Teal. The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the John Wesley A.M.E. Zion with the Rev. Allie Harper officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
