Edna C. Widney Edna Catherine Widney, 97, of Fayetteville, passed away July 13, 2014, at her home with her family by her side. She was born August 29, 1916, in Chambersburg, PA to C. Grover and Elsie (Foust) Gabler. She was the widow of the late Maurice G. Widney, Sr. who died in 1980. Edna was retired from the Stanley Company where she worked as a seamstress. She is a member of Cold Spring United Brethren Church. She enjoyed collecting antiques, bowling, gospel music and volunteering at Caledonia Manor. Edna is survived by her seven children: Fred (Margaret) Widney of Chambersburg, Vaughnie (Blaine) Barnhart of Shippensburg, Wayne (Nancy) Widney of Orrstown, Raymond (friend Darlene) Widney of Fannettsburg, Phyllis (John) McKee of Falling Waters, WV, Dwight (Sharon) Widney of Shippensburg, Rodney (Donna) Widney of Chambersburg; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Widney of Waynesboro. Edna has 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is the last of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Maurice Widney, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., with the Rev. Art Page officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be held at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Salem United Brethren Church, 4349 Letterkenny Road, Chambersburg, PA. 17201. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA will be handling the arrangements.
