Frederick Steimling Frederick A. Steimling of Cashtown peacefully joined our heavenly Father on Friday, July 18, 2014 due to complications following a cardiac arrest. He was the devoted husband of Dianne C. (App) Steimling for 27 years and the proud father of their children, Corissa Ann and Frederick James. Born December 27, 1960, he was the son of Margaret Jean (Gross) Steimling of Middleburg, Pa. and the late Frederick Ammon Steimling. Frederick was a 1978 graduate of Middleburg High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Loch Haven University, where Fred enjoyed Brotherhood in the TKE Fraternity, serving in a number of roles which included administrative V.P. As the chief executive officer of LB Water since 2008, Fred began his career with the company in 1984. Amongst his peers, he was considered "a leader, mentor, problem solver, negotiator, and friend, who gave respect and in turn received respect back". Fred was extremely proud of LB's 100% ESOP status and their company's two consecutive years ranking in the Top 100 Places to Work in Pennsylvania. Frederick was an active member of Flohr Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he served as a council member and treasurer, as well as a deacon and property committee member. Fred will be missed by many close friends and family members. Surviving in addition to his wife and children are his mother, Margaret J. Steimling; sister, Deanna Walter and husband Michael of York Haven; brother, Michael Steimling and wife Robin of Danville; sister, Lana Steimling of Beavertown; nieces and nephews: Elaina Skinner and husband David and their children, S.Sgt USAF Evan Hoke, Laura Walter, Zane F. Bilger, Esq. and wife Micaiah, Michael Steimling, D.PT, Ryan Steimling, and Benjamin Steimling; parents-in-law, James and Carole App of Selinsgrove; and sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Michael Goundie of Selinsgrove and their son Donovan. Additionally, Fred is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father and childhood friend and cousin Bradley S. Harner. Fred truly enjoyed helping others whether it was serving at church, volunteering at his children's school, or lending a helping hand to a friend. He had a wide variety of interests that developed from the many clubs and activities he participated in throughout school. However, sports were a favorite of Fred's. As a Middleburg Middie, he played baseball, wrestled and was a fierce member of the soccer team that qualified for state finals. He went on to play on the Loch Haven University soccer team as well. Hunting and fishing were Fred's true passion and earned him the nickname "Frontier Fred" during his college years. He was happiest when tracking deer or turkeys through the woods with his buddies or daughter, Cori, and father-in-law, Jim. Fred and his wife, Dianne shared a love for the outdoors and followed their dream by traveling to over 50 national parks and monuments starting on their honeymoon, continuing with their children, and most recently celebrating their 27th anniversary in Yosemite and the Redwood Forest. Fred and Dianne were avid Penn State fans and were thrilled when both their children chose PSU Schreyer Honors College to pursue their education. He loved his family and was always involved with Cori's and Freddy's activities. Fred and his son were easily each other's best friends.
