Eli S. Byler, 79 of Newburg, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at home. Born January 18, 1933 in New Wilmington, Lawrence County, PA, he was a son of the late Samuel and Martha Kurtz Byler. He was employed for over 18 years at B & B's Grocery Store, Newburg. Eli was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Stoltzfus Byler. He is survived by his wife, Emma F. Stoltzfus Byler, five sons, Gideon Byler of Orrstown, Joseph Byler of Mocksville, NC, Samuel Byler of Bainbridge, NY, Benjamin Byler of Newburg, and Amos Byler of Shippensburg, two daughters, Sarah King and her husband Isaac and Maryann Blank and her husband Joseph all of Newburg, one step son, Levi Stoltzfus of Little Falls, NY, six step daughters, Barbie Stoltzfus and her husband Mervin of Leola, Sarah Lantz and her husband Roman of Newburg, Arie Speicher and her husband Christ of Millersburg, Nancy Lapp and her husband Daniel of Loysville, Emma Zook and her husband Henry of Stricklerstown, and Betty Stoltzfus and her husband John, Jr. of Manheim, three sisters, Fannie Stoltzfus of Hagerstown, IN, Sadie Stoltzfus of Blain, and Pheobe of VA, 58 grandchildren, 43 step grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 at 9 a.m. and a viewing will be held from the time of this notice until the time of the services Monday morning. Both the viewing and services will be held at 8520 Otterbein Church Road, Newburg, PA 17240. Burial will be in the Mountain View Amish Cemetery. Due to religious reasons the family requests the omission of flowers. Arrangements are being handled by the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg.
