Joseph John Lucas, Sr. 68, of Chambersburg passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012, at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born on December 8, 1943, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Frank J. and Josephine (Oshansky) Lucas. He grew up in the Johnstown/ Conemaugh Area and graduated from Johnstown High School. He was retired from Dymond's in Fayetteville. Throughout his life time Joe enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, woodworking, camping, attending airshows, going on fishing trips as well as reading National Geographic and Smithsonian Magazines. Joe had a huge passion for airplanes, trains and older cars. He was preceded in death by his son: Joseph J. "Joey" Lucas Jr.; and is survived by his wife: Victoria (Peters) Lucas; three daughters: Kimberly Lucas, Fayetteville; Patricia Lucas, Los Angeles and Catherine Lucas, Mt. Joy. A Graveside Service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012, in Corpus Christi Cemetery with the Rev. James R. O'Brian officiating. There will be a visitation held at 10 a.m. at the William F. Sellers Funeral Home prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Commemorative Air Force to help support FIFI, the world's last flying B-29, www.commemorativeairforce.org or to Joseph Lucas, Sr. Memorial Account at Susquehanna Bank to help defray funeral expenses.
