Kauffman, Jr. Mr. Richard L. "Dick" Kauffman, Jr., 53, of 211 University Drive, Mont Alto, PA, died, Thursday, December 13, 2012 in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian Campus, following a lifelong battle with congenital heart disease. Born February 7, 1959 in Waynesboro, he was the son of Richard L. Kauffman, Sr. of Mont Alto and the late Leah Jean (Bumbaugh) Kauffman. He was a lifelong resident of the Mont Alto area. Dick graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the class of 1978. He and his wife of over, 27 years, Lauren M. "Laurie" (Hoover) Kauffman, were married on January 26, 1985 in Mont Alto. They moved to the present residence in June 1986. Dick worked for 6 years at Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro. He later worked in the maintenance department of Mont Alto Campus of Penn State University, retiring in February 2012. He was a member of Eagles Club, Inc., George Washington Lodge #143, F.&A.M., Chambersburg, and the South Mountain Fish and Game. Dick enjoyed taking cruises, dinners out with friends, landscaping, and his dog, Jackson. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by three children, Ashley (Kauffman) McCulloch and her husband Scott of Newville, PA, Christopher Bailey and his wife Kat of Waynesboro, and James Bailey and his wife Jenny of Omaha, NE; and five grandchildren, Austin Bailey, Annabel Bailey, T.J. Bailey, Lyndsie Stewart, and Joshua Bailey. Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Mr. Daniel Kauffman officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening, in the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.bowersoxfuneralhomes.com
