Donald W. Gift, 94, formerly of 4528 Newman Road, Chambersburg, passed away January 22, 2013, at Quincy Village. He was born May 29, 1918, in Markes, to Roy C. and Mary (Auman) Gift. He was the widower of the late LaRue Gift who died in 2002. Donald was a member of Chambersburg Church of the Brethren. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during WWII. For twenty-three years he had worked at Greyline Hosiery Company in Chambersburg till they closed, he worked for Frank Gayman for three years and then worked at Letterkenny Army Depot for fifteen years until his retirement, where he was a welder. For almost ten years from 1955 till about 1965 he ran a milk route in the Mercersburg area while working his regular job. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outside. He loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his four children: Jay Gift of Chambersburg, Bill (husband of Diane) Gift of Chambersburg, Patricia Nelson of Chambersburg and Pamela (wife of Bill) Long of Chambersburg. He has six grandchildren and eight great-grandchidlren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013, at Chambersburg Church of the Brethren with Revs. Darlene Stouffer and Daniel House officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 till 8 p.m. at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be held at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Chambersburg Church of the Brethren, 260 S. Fourth St., Chambersburg, PA, 17201. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, PA will be handling the arrangements.
