Rosalie L. Sheaffer, 70, of the Gettysburg Lutheran Home, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013, at the Gettysburg Hospital. She was born January 9, 1943 in Mercersburg, the daughter of the late Clifford and Caroline (Reese) Carbaugh. Rosalie was the widow of Donald M. Sheaffer. She retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where she worked as a secretary for the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. Rosalie was a lifetime member of the Mercersburg Moose Lodge and was a foster mother for twenty-three children. She enjoyed making crafts, quilting, painting and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Jeffrey L. Sheaffer of Chambersburg; three daughters, Rochelle M. Brandt of Dillsburg, Eileen L. Reyan of Everett, Stacey L. Elicker of York Springs; and several sisters and brothers. Rosalie also leaves behind eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gregory A. Sheaffer. Services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg with the Rev. C. Ronald Burgard officiating. A visitation will be held Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Mountain Road.
