Donald W. "Jeep" Boles, 68, of Chambersburg, passed away in the Chambersburg Hospital on Friday, February 22, 2013. Born in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Bruce and Corrine Brown Boles. After the death of his mother, Jeep was raised by his grandmother, Lillian Mitchell. Jeep graduated from the Chambersburg Area Senior High School in 1963. Following that, he went to work at Chambersburg Engineering Co., he left there and went to work at the Chambersburg Club and lastly for 42- 1/2 years at T.B. Woods, where he was hired in November 1966 until his retirement in June 2009. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 30 years. Jeep was the type of man who loved life and the way he lived his life, showed it. One thing he was concerned with was being physically fit. He loved to play basketball, go running and play pool. It was nothing for him to be sitting back listening to some good music. His favorite hobby was painting. Jeep was a friendly person, as his hosts of friends would tell you. For those who knew him, they would tell you he had a magnetic personality, one that just drew people to him. He loved to have fun and laugh. He enjoyed having a close association of friends; he was the type of person willing to help those in need. He was especially there for those in his neighborhood. We all will truly miss him: his family, close friends, and associates. On behalf of the family, we thank you for your prayers and support and encouragement and the team of doctors and nurses in the CCU unit at the Chambersburg Hospital, who did all they could. Jeep is survived by two sons, Donald W. Boles, Jr. of Chambersburg and Philip Boles of Shippensburg; a daughter; one grandson, Bryson Boles of Shippensburg; three siblings, Terry Boles of Huntingdon, Katheryn Whitehead (husband Moses) of Chambersburg, and Karen Jones of Chambersburg; four nephews, Anthony Whitehead of Chambersburg, Charles Whitehead of York, Jerrod Jones of Chambersburg, and Chad Jones of Atlanta, Ga.; two nieces, Corrine and Deborah, both of Virginia; and a host of great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, where Pastor Roger Wilmer will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral home on Friday, where a Masonic service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery.
