Virginia Mae Zeger, 92, a resident of Providence Place of Chambersburg, died Monday evening, May 20, 2013, with family by her side. Born Feb. 17, 1921 in St. Thomas Township, the daughter of the late Blanche E. (Brant) and John Daniel Barmont. She was married to Ray C. Zeger in March, 1942. She attended the King Street United Brethren Church. She had worked at the Stanley Company. She enjoyed gardening, taking her veggies, home made goods, clothing, and flowers to the fair, where she won many blue ribbons. Virginia is survived by her granddaughter, Darla R. Zeger and her daughter-in-law, Peggy Laird Zeger. She has a sister, Jean Barmont Strike of Chambersburg and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband Ray she was preceded in death by her son, Darl, three sisters: Mary Bryner, Dorothy Barmont and Cora Hoke and two brothers: George and Ray Barmont. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 28th at 9:30 a.m. at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, with the Rev. Paul Baker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
