Catharine A. Herb Catharine Ann Herb, 71 of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at home. She was born on Thursday, November 13, 1941, in Bellefonte, the daughter of the late Witmer James and Catharine (Mertz) Symmonds. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring, Order of the Eastern Star and worked at the Brick Stitch House and for WIC. Catharine was an avid cross stitcher and enjoyed doing miniatures, quill art and eggeur. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Herb; two sons, David Herb and John (Mrs.Tamara) Herb; a brother, W. James (Mrs. Margaret) Symmonds; and six granddaughters, Megan, Sarah, Lauren, Hayley, Noelle and Madisyn. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Nikki. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the William F. Sellers Funeral Home. There will be a visitation on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
