Warren A. Britton Warren A. (Mike) Britton, age 82, a respected man and loved by many, passed away early Thursday morning at the Chambersburg Hospital. Mike was the son of Maude and George Britton from Harrisburg. Mike's children are: Bobbie Britton, Beth McCarney (Rick), Mark Britton (Kathleen Hunt), Rebecca Britton (Mike Gamber), Barbara Moore, and Adria Fulton (Dennis Hartley). He has eight grandchildren: Lee Jordan (Hyon), Mandy McCarney, Sarah Dormon (John) Jason Britton (So Yeon) Tricia Britton, Tyler Fulton, Devin Stepler and Ashley Macedo. He also has three great-grandchildren: Bryant McCarney, Ellie Dormon, Jacob Jordan and several nieces and nephews. Mike is survived by a brother, David Britton and a sister, Patricia Spangler. He also leaves the following special friends, Courtney, George, Gordon, James and Taz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Culver Britton and a son, Michael Britton. Mike served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Macon during the Korean War. He was deeply patriotic. He was involved in many civic organizations, including the Marine Corps, Cooties, American Legion, Amvets, VFW Post 1599, 40 & 8, Vietnam Veterans and the Chambersburg Club. Mike worked as an X-Ray technician at the Chambersburg and Polyclinic Hospitals. At one time, Mike was a volunteer firefighter with the Friendship Fire Station. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg will be handling the arrangements. Funeral services will be private. There will be a Gathering Monday, August 19th at 2:00 PM at the Marine Corps on Grant Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Toys for Tots Organization in his name.
