Dolly loved to cook, sing, crochet and tend her flowers. Serving the Lord was of the utmost importance to her and she cherished the time she spent with her children and many grandchildren. Many years ago, the Lord our God, sent Dolly a vision of a church sitting in the heart of the valley, which ultimately became the Village Lighthouse Chapel. Her role as church mother has helped to shape the church into what it has become today. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the Village Lighthouse Chapel, Blairs Mills, with Rev. John Burleson, Pastor Roy Fahnestock and Pastor Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will be private. Viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. with family present from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, at the church. The family will provide all funeral flowers and ask that memorial contributions in Mrs. Burdge's memory may be made to her church, The Village Lighthouse Chapel, c/o Tyler L.
