Edith Leedy Edith "Eloise Leedy, age 81, of Chambersburg, PA entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 7, 1932, in Shippensburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry U. and Mildred Myers Whorley. Mrs. Leedy attended Chambersburg Area Schools. She was a homemaker, raising five children. She loved gardening, cooking, and baking for her family. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and antiquing. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, where she had been a member since 1958, the Elks B.P.O.E 600 Auxiliary, Chambersburg Mall Walkers Club, and the A.A.R.P. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Harry Leedy, whom she married June 12, 1948; four children, Alan G. Leedy (wife Pam) of Chambersburg, PA, Kelly F. Izer (husband David) of Chambersburg, PA, Kim Yvonne Hissong (husband Gregory) of St. Thomas, PA, and Harry Donald Leedy, Jr. (wife Judy) of Upper Strasburg, PA; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great - great grandchild; and three siblings, Cynthia Carpenter of Chambersburg, PA, Bonita Tecco of New Jersey, and Jacob U. Whorley of Chambersburg, PA and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Stoey David Leedy and a sister Rita Baughman. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Scott Bowerman and Rev. Lawrence Metzler will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
