Charles Tillery Obituary


News Death Notice

TILLERY, Charles Darrell age 73 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 4:30 PM. He was born in McKee, Kentucky on August 23, 1937 the son of James Henry and Mary (Gabbard) Tillery. Charles was a member of the East Hamilton Baptist Church and retired from the City of Hamilton as a heavy equipment operator. On March 30, 1957 in McKee, Kentucky he was married to Ruth Stevens and she preceded him in death in 1992. He is survived by his son, Jimmy (Vicki) Tillery of Hilliard, Ohio; two granddaughters, Vanessa (Joseph) Wyatt of Bettendorf, Iowa and Kristen Tillery of Hilliard, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob, Justin, and Hailey; two brothers, James H. Tillery and George (Zella) Tillery both of Hamilton; a sister, Dorothy Maggard of Berea, Kentucky; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth Tillery; a brother, Amos Tillery; and three sisters, Opal Lunsford, Hazel Reed, and Della Tillery. Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dale Hinderliter pastor of East Hamilton Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Friday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. www.browndawson.com
