She prepared almost every meal for her family and she was a good cook, often hosting Thanksgiving and an annual Christmas party. Arlene created sparkly and magical Christmases for her daughters. Many summer days were spent at the beach with her girls. Easter break and summer vacations were spent camping and waterskiing at Lake Shasta, the River and other locales with friends and family. In her later years, Arlene resided in Sun City and Hemet. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and working the slot machines. Her 80th birthday was spent in Laughlin, Nevada with her daughters. She had a generous spirit and a strong will to survive. She will be missed. A "Celebration of Life" is scheduled for 1:00p.m. Saturday, January 19 at the Huntington Beach Elks Lodge #1959 (7711 Talbert Avenue, 714-848-9440).
