Carol Miranda Obituary
Carol Miranda

Our beautiful mother, Carol Miranda "Carolina", 88, of Wilmington, California, received her angel wings into Heaven on Sunday, January 21, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones in her home.

Our mother was born in Upland, California to Benito and Maria Martinez on March 3, 1929. Growing up, Carol, her siblings, and parents helped to support their family as farm workers. She moved to San Pedro as a child and attended Dana Junior High School and San Pedro High School. At 15, she began working at Starkist Cannery and met the love her life, Daniel Miranda. They were married on October 24, 1950 in Yuma, Arizona and returned to build their loving home in Wilmington, California, where they raised a beautiful family of six children.

As a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, she found opportunities to give back to her community, be actively involved in her family, and be an example to all those around her. She was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church, was involved in the Parent Teacher Organization at Saints Peter and Paul during her children's school years, and was a VFW Auxiliary Chaplain.

Our mother had a passion to experience life. She loved to travel to new places with her family; be at each special event, and brought joy to so many. She will forever be an example to our family of faith, hope, and love.
Our mom is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Lopez; and 2 children, Laura Ann and Eugene Anthony.

Our mother is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Daniel V. Miranda; her children, Margie Miranda DiBernardo, Danny (Cindy) Miranda, David "Randy" (Ida) Miranda, Laura (Mark) Demers; her siblings, Stella Lauro, Lola Calise, Roni Vaznaugh, Terry Ghio, and Benny Martinez; her grandchildren, Danny "Dan Boy" (Ilona) Miranda, Jack Gomez, Alyssa (David) Kooper, Jennifer (fiancé John Clamme) Miranda, Amanda (Hector) Mendez, Ali (fiancé Kayleigh Raciak) DiBernardo, Mark Demers, Emily Demers, Matthew Miranda, and Cassie Demers and her great-grandchildren, Ayden Mendez, Daniel Miranda, Emma Kooper, Isabella Miranda, Andrew Kooper, and Logan Mendez.

Donations may be given in Carol's name to Mary Star of The Sea High School.
