HECTOR THERMOS 10/12/1924 - 01/20/2019 When you write about a man who was all about family, a man who never put his own needs first and a man who adored his wife Nora Angela Fuentes for 65 years, you are most likely speaking about our father, Hector Thermos. On January 20, 2019 Hector passed away peacefully at the age of 94. Hector took great pride in figuring things out before ever hiring a professional. He loved jitterbugging to big band music and as an avid reader of newspapers, he thoroughly enjoyed discussing politics and Laker games with his buddies at the Donut Den. Son of Peter and Flora Zayas Thermos from San Pedro, he was always involved in student government. As a proud graduate of San Pedro High, he sat on reunion committees for many years. Drafted into the US Army in 1943, he became a decorated serviceman in addition to receiving two Purple Hearts. Returning home, he began a successful 35 year career with GTE. Hector was a loving father to his five children; John, Janet, Julie, Jennifer and Peter; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. His siblings, John, Angie and Michael are now deceased. Family and friends will always remember Hector for his kind, caring, always welcoming generous heart with a great sense of humor and his fancy footwork on the dance floor as an excellent swing dancer. Hector will be honored at the Riverside National Cemetery. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits
