Jane Denise Hoose, beloved Torrance High School English, speech and drama teacher for 33 years, died peacefully at home in Rancho Murieta October 8, 2018. Born July 4,1938 in Los Angeles, she attended Mira Costa High School, Manhattan Beach and earned a BA in Theater Arts from UCLA and an MA in English from CSULB. Ms. Hoose was a dedicated and devoted teacher whose highest joy was seeing that each student, from remedial classes to Honors and Advanced Placement, achieved their best. She believed in her students and inspired them to have faith in themselves. Her classes were lively and engaging, and she fostered an atmosphere of caring and respect. She enjoyed reading, traveling, concerts, plays, museums, and cooking international cuisine. Predeceased by parents James and Alice Hoose and brother Brian, she is survived by life partner Bronwyn Anthony, sister lee-lee, brother-in-law Morgan Robinson, sister-in-law Susan Hoose, niece Kelly and nephews Patrick and Kevin.
