Marvin Roy Davison

Marvin Roy Davison, age 86, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday evening, January 2. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Hugh Davison and Verna Evelyn Farmer, his wife Donna Lee Philips of Holdrege, Nebraska, and his son, Stephen Lee Davison. Marvin was born in Stafford, Kansas on December 1, 1931 as the younger brother of Donald Davison and twin brother of Melvin Davison.

Marvin married Donna on May 29, 1951. After serving in the Navy as an aviation technician, he worked for AiResearch Aviation and then for Collins Radio, retiring after working more than 40 years in avionics. Marvin lived in the same home in Torrance for more than 60 years. Even while working long hours, he still found time for YMCA, Cub Scouts, and Little League. After retiring, he continued to help those in need and lending a hand at the First United Methodist Church of Redondo Beach.

Marvin is survived by his loving sons, Michael Roy Davison and his wife Kathy of Lake Forest, and Robert Ray Davison of Lancaster. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Julia and her husband Noel Norquist of Naperville, Illinois, Nicole Davison of Lake Forest, Brieana Davison of Torrance, and Leah Davison of Menifee. His great grandchildren are Elizabeth, Alexandra, and Andrew Norquist of Naperville, Illinois, Reid Davison-Simpson of Lake Forest, and Liam Barkau and Gideon Buzzelli of Torrance.

Services will be held at Thursday, January 18th at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church, 243 S. Broadway, Redondo Beach, CA followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Private burial at Pacific Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church Shared Bread ministry.
