Naverne Burnham Obituary
Naverne Burnham passed away on September 17, 2018, at the age of 71 after a prolonged health battle. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 17, 1947, to Eddie Burnham and Margaret Freeheart, who predeceased him. He is remembered by a classmate as being the smartest one in the class. He joined the United States Air Force in 1967 and served honorably for 24 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1991. After his retirement from the Air Force, he settled with his family in Torrance, where he was a resident until his death. He also worked for the United States Postal Service for 15 years before retiring in early 2013. He loved reading the newspaper and talking about sports, history and politics. His favorite teams were the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Lakers. He will be remembered for his big smile, playful nature, gentle heart and his love of jellybeans and couponing. He is survived by his wife, Yong Hwa; his children, Junior, Arleen, Matthew and Bridget; his daughter-in-law, Mi; his grandson, Anthony; and his 13 siblings, Martha, Phil, Brenda, Juanita, Vanessa, Gloria, Phyllis, Barbara, Venus, Velma, Sheila, Melvin, and Kelvin.
