Noel Houser Obituary
Noel William Houser Noel Houser of Inglewood, CA, passed away on November 12, 2018 in Westchester from Alzheimer's Disease. Noel was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania to Julia Elizabeth Houser (nee Roche) and Roy Samuel William Houser on January 20, 1936. He was the seventh of eight children and the fourth son. Noel graduated from Bristol High School in June of 1953. Later, he went on to earn an AA degree at El Camino College in Torrance, CA in 1971. Seven years later, he obtained his Real Estate Broker's License. Noel served in the USAF from 1957 to 1960 as an Aircraft Radio Repairman. He was stationed at Ramstein AFB in Germany which offered him the opportunity of visiting many parts of Europe including Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. Noel married RoseMarie Manley in July of 1963. They moved to Los Angeles, California shortly thereafter and began a family. Noel was the father of Grace Leah Ross (Christopher), Matthew Noel Houser (Joan), Jennifer Marie Houser, and Lorraine Rose Bien. Noel was a fun Dad who took the family camping and on cross country trips, served as Boy Scout Pack Leader, loved roller coasters, and was determined to visit all 50 states. Noel worked in the aerospace industry for many years, ending his career in that industry in November 1989 when he retired from Hughes Aircraft as a Computer Specialist to become a full time realtor. Noel became co-owner of Able Realty, went on to full ownership of Arbor Realty, and retired from Bellante Realty in December 2008. Taking photos and assembling photo albums was an avid hobby of Noel's. Noel became interested in genealogy and traced his roots back for several generations. He thoroughly documented and organized his findings in binders which he shared with his children and grandchildren. Noel knew he was losing his memory so he compiled notebooks for each of his grandchildren so that he would live on in their memories. In addition, Noel enjoyed traveling, listening to music and telling jokes but got the most joy out of entertaining kids: first his nieces and nephews when he lived in Pennsylvania, then his own kids, and finally his grandkids as their beloved Papa Noel: Miranda Pearl Ross, Cecilia Rose Bien, Lucia Marie Houser, George Francis Bien, Stanley Noel Bien, and Samuel William Houser. Noel was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Julia Elizabeth Bromell and Amy Letitia Houser; his brothers, Roy Roche Houser and Paul Thomas Houser; and his granddaughter, Cecilia Rose Bien. Noel is survived by his four children, his five grandchildren, his sisters, Vivian Carol Bennett and Leah Ann Ciarka; his brother, Phillip Stephen Houser and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Westchester Americare owners and staff for the kindness and loving care they provided their Dad/Papa Noel.
