Walter Charles Janis Jr.

1962 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Feb. 18, 1962 - August 3, 2018Walter Charles Janis, Jr., passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2018 at the age of 56. Walt moved to California from Chicago, Illinois when he was 22 to start his career as an aerospace engineer with McDonnell Douglas Aircraft (later Boeing) in Long Beach, where he met the love of his life, Rosanna. Walt and Rosanna were married in 1996 and began their world wide travels due to his many overseas assignments for Boeing. He and Rosanna travelled to numerous countries where they enjoyed the cultures and friendships developed along the way. When not traveling, Walt would either be on the links or hosting get togethers at his home for family and friends. Predeceased by his mother, Helen Luszowiak Janis and father-in-law, Mario Albano, Walt is survived by his wife, Rosanna; father, Walter Janis Sr. (Kay); sister, Terri Tinerella; brother, Dave (Bridget) Janis; mother-in-law, Rose Albano, sisters-in-law, Michele AhKuoi (Robert) and Antoinette Uthoff (Stephen). Walt is also survived by his devoted entourage of nieces and nephews: Tanya and Jamey (Jaylene) Tinerella, Trinity and Ariana Janis, Anthony, Alyssa and Michael AhKuoi, and Adrianna & Stephen Uthoff Jr. Uncle Wally was the go-to guy for life advice, stock tips or just dreaming big. Walt was a straight-shooter and famous for saying "luck has nothing to do with it." He was successful professionally and personally but most importantly, he was loved. He was loved by family, he was loved by friends and he was loved by colleagues. Enjoy a round of golf in Walt's memory and at the end of the round, say cheers to Walt with a beautiful glass of vino as he looks down from the 19th Hole! Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 9, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 340 10th St., Seal Beach, CA 90740. Attire is Wally style: casual, aloha or golf shirts.
