Joseph Glenn Geibel age 87, passed away in Logan NM on Tuesday night December 3, 2013.|
He was born March 30, 1926, to the home of Joseph Glenn and Jessica Geibel in Streator, IL. He married Gloria Grimm on Oct. 16, 1945, in Montana when he was 18 and she was 16. Joe was serving in the US Navy at the time. He had been area director for the Employment Security Commission for the State of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM and then in Tucumcari NM, and upon his retirement he and Gloria moved to Logan NM where he could hunt and fish at his leisure.
Surviving Joe are his very special friends Jimmy and Betty Denton of Clovis and Logan NM, by LaNelda Kresge & Jeanette Sutton of Logan NM. By Roger and Rebecca Rose and their son Brett of Canyon Texas. Also surviving is a nephew Steve Acree & family of Dixon IL and Joe's sister in law Rose Mary Palmyra of Warminster PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, by his parents and by a sister Marlene.
Graveside services celebrating his life will be Thursday afternoon December 12, 2013, in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery beginning at 2:00PM with Pastor Dan Jones, minister of the Logan Church of Christ officiating. Honorary pall bearers will be Harold Westall, Curtis Watson, Jesse Locke, Joe Locke, Jimmie Denton, Jim Harper, Dan Jones, Larry Ogleslby, Dick Fankhauser, Roger Rose and all of his many friends.
Interment will follow in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery in Tucumcari NM.
The family suggests for those who wish, donations may be made to the Logan Volunteer Ambulance service or to one's favorite charity in loving memory of Joseph G. Geibel.
