A.F. Frankie Flint Sr.


A.F. Frankie Flint Sr., 96, died at his home in Tucumcari on April 9, 2005. Flint was born on the family farm on May 17, 1908 in Bard. He was the oldest child of Martenia W. Flint and Edna (Marrs) Flint. In 1930 he married Addie Lee Whately. Together, they traveled and volunteered time with organizations including the Beef Improvement Federations, Production Registry International, American Angus Association, New Mexico and Texas Angus Associations, Certified Meat Sires, New Mexico Cattle Growers Association. He served on the San Jon school board for 25 years and Rural Electric Association board member for 45 years. He lived his entire life in the Bard Community until moving to Tucumcari 5 years ago. He was a member of the San Jon United Methodist Church. Flint was preceded in death by his wife Addie Lee Flint, his parents Martenia and Edna Flint, three sisters, one grandson and one great-grandson. Survivors include three sons Quinnie Flint (and wife Shirley) of Round Rock, Texas, A. Franklin Flint Jr. (Betty) of San Jon, and Martenia Flint (Felecia) of San Jon; one daughter Ora Lee Robbins ( Leslie) of Tucumcari; one brother Earl Flint of San Jon; and four sisters , Bertie Ragland of Tucumcari, Cora White of Bard, Maurine Boatman and Earline Paris of Logan. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Center Street United Methodist Church in Tucumcari with Rev. Tom Broom, minister of the Center Street United Methodist Church, and Rev. Amy Jordan, minister of the San Jon United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot of the San Jon Cemetery.
