Albert Kenneth Leach Albert Kenneth Leach, 81, died in Amarillo on Friday, Jan. 2, 2004. Leach was born Dec. 7, 1922 in Belleview to John and Mary Leach. He graduated from High School in 1940 and joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He married Dessie Lassater July 8, 1945. They moved to Glenrio where they ranched and operated the State Line Bar. He retired from ranching and moved to San Jon. He raised race horses and spent time with his family. Leach is survived by his step daughter Margaret (Terrill) Crenshaw of Antioch, Calif.; daughter-in-law Shirley Terrill of Clovis; two brothers Ernest Leach (Veda) of Portales and Wallace Leach of Gallup and one sister, Mary Blakley of Rogers. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Dessie in 1973 and by a stepson, Nolan Terrill in 1989. Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 6 at the First Baptist Church of San Jon with Roy Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in the San Jon Cemetery. Donations may be made to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo or Cal Farley's Boy's Ranch.
