Alfredo "Fred" Lopez Obituary
Alfredo "Fred" Lopez, of Tucumcari, NM, passed away, Sunday, June 9th, 2013, at his home. Fred was born May 19th, 1951, in Tucumcari, NM to Manuel and Juanita Lopez. He resided in Tucumcari for most of his life but moved to Albuquerque where he owned and operated Pine Valley Landscaping. He later returned to his beloved roots in Tucumcari where he owned and operated Performance Concrete. He leaves behind a legacy of his hard work which is reflected in many Tucumcari Landmarks and structures such as Georgetown, the Convention Center, Mesa lands and throughout the state of New Mexico. He was known for his extraordinary work ethic and his greatest life pleasures were Construction, Ranching, Farming, Camping, Barbecuing, and treasured time with family, friends, and his dogs.
Fred is survived by his wife Frances Lopez (Baca) and three daughters; Stefanie Lopez-Mendoza of Santa Clara, CA, Heather Lopez-Vargas of El Paso, TX and Jacquelyn Lopez of Tucumcari, NM, two step-children Ron Velasco of Amarillo, TX and Rachel Hallowell of Grain Valley MI; 10 grandchildren; brothers Don Lopez, Pablo Lopez, Manuel Lopez, Carlos Lopez and Rudy Lopez all of Tucumcari, NM; sisters Carmen Badillo, Delfie Martinez, Candy Duran all of Albuquerque, NM and Mary Cordova of Tucumcari, NM and Alby White of Scotsdale, AZ and his dogs Sassy and Taffy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Juanita Lopez and his brothers Joe and Margarito Lopez.
The Rosary will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church on Sunday, June 16th, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. and the Celebration Mass will be held Monday, June 17th at 10:00 a.m., with burial services immediately following at Tucumcari Memorial Park.
He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him and will live on in their hearts forever.
