Alice Barry Services: Monday in Dallas. Alice J. Barry, 84, of El Paso, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2005, at the Clyde Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham, Texas. She was born July 20, 1921, in Tucumcari to Isabella Apodaca Jessup and Blanche Jessup. She was educated in Tucumcari and Loretta Academy in Santa Fe. She was working as a bookkepper at Sands Pharmacy when she met Lt. Theodore Barry of the Army Air Corps stationed in Fort Sumner. They were married and moved to Carlsbad in 1944. During the American Occupation of Japan, they were stationed in Osaka, Japan, and then in Roswell. Later, the family traveled in the Air Force to New Hampshire, California, Puerto Rico and Maine, where her husband retired. Upon retirement, the family moved to El Paso, where they lived for nearly 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters, a niece and a nephew. She is survived by her husband; a niece, Janie Brock of Espanola; one daughter, Dr. Kathleen Erdman (Paul) of Dallas; three sons, Ted (Tracey) Barry of Cumberland, Maine, Michael (Lucy) Barry of Van Buren, Ark. and Robert Barry of Georgetown, Texas and six grandchildren, Ben and Anny Barry of Cumberland, Molley (Rich) Prouty of Chicago, Emily Erdman of Baltimore, and Angela and Rachel Barry of Van Buren. Donations can be made to the SPCA, Human Society of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. Arrangements are by Wise Funeral Home of Bonham, Texas.
