Bacilia Alicia (Alice) Gonzales, age 100, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012, in Springer, New Mexico.
Alice was born June 14, 1912, in Alamosita, New Mexico. She and her late husband, Ruperto (Bob) Gonzales, helped start the Lady of Guadalupe Church in San Jon, New Mexico where she had been an active member. She had been a long time resident of San Jon before moving to Springer for health reasons.
Surviving Alice are her daughters, Cecilia Aragon and Lee, and Luichi Cordova all of Amarillo, Texas, and Gloria Pacheco and Leo of San Jon, New Mexico; her sons, Santiago Gonzales and Janie of Herber, Arizona, Jose Gonzales and Juanita of San Jon, New Mexico, Bobby Gonzales and Maria of New Braunfels, Texas, Joe Villanueva and Florence of Clines Corners, New Mexico, and Leo Chacon and Stella of Clovis, New Mexico; 39 grandchildren; 93 great-grandchildren, and 47 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruperto (Bob) Gonzales and by her son, Celestino Gonzales.
Rosary will be recited on Thursday morning in the St. Anne's Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 AM. Mass of the Resurrection will follow on Thursday morning in the St. Anne's Catholic Church beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Father Hyginus Anuta of St. Anne's Catholic Church as Celebrant.
Pall Bearers will be Willie Cordova, Wilard Gonzales, Eliseo Aragon, Joseph Villanueva, Victor Gonzales, and Gabriel Pacheco. Interment will then follow in the San Jon Cemetery at San Jon, New Mexico.
