Bobby D. "Bob" White Obituary
Bobby D. White (Bob) age 92, long time Tucumcari area farmer and rancher passed away on Wednesday night, August 8, 2018, in Tucumcari, NM.
Bob was born May 8, 1926 in Lubbock, Texas to Sidney and Maggie White. He was a farmer and rancher in the Tucumcari area for all of his life. He was active in politics and served as campaign manager for Jeff Bingaman. He loved coaching Little League Baseball and Basketball. He served on the Arch Hurley Conservancy District Board, the Quay County Commission, Mesa Lands Board of Directors, Eastern Planes COG Board and was instrumental in acquiring the land for the Wind School as well as working to brings jobs and businesses to the Tucumcari area. He grew up in Nara Visa and graduated from the Nara Visa High School where he was active in playing basketball and baseball. Bob served in the U S Navy during WW II, serving on the USS Melvin.
Surviving Bob White are his children; Bobbie White, Don White & Angie all of Tucumcari; grandchildren, Kristine Olsen & David Morris, Lisa Olsen, Brian White, Monty White and Breanna, Jory White & Lauren, Brad White & Crystal, Michelle Di Palma &Jimmy, Celestte Olana & Michael, Brandon Padilla, Ty Padilla & Shay; along with 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Nelda Seals & James. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle of 64 years; by daughter, Linda White Padilla; by brothers, Jake, Glenn and Jack White and by his son in law Frank Padilla.
Services celebrating his life will be Tuesday afternoon August 14, 2018, in the First Baptist Church of Tucumcari NM. Pall bearers will be Brian White, Monty White, Jory White, Brad White, Brandon Padilla, Ty Padilla with honorary bearers being Ted Peabody and Dwayne Brake. Burial to follow in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
