Casey C Jimenez Obituary
Casey C. Jimenez, 82, of Tucumcari, N.M., died in his home, surroundied by his loving family on Friday, January 1, 2016.
Casey was born on April 11, 1933, in Amarillo, TX to the late Blas and Lala Jimenez. He was a lifetime resident of Tucumcari and a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, also in Tucumcari.
In 1953, he was called to serve in the Korean War and after his obligation, he served in the Army National Guard. After returning from Korea, Casey went to work for the NMDOT for 15+ years. Casey worked for American Farm Lines for 3 years, and owned E & L Escort for 32 years. Casey was a lifetime member of the Delfido Gonzales VFW Post 2528 in Tucumcari, he was commander of the American Legion VFW 20 in Tucumcari for many years, and in recent years became a member of American Legion Post 19 in Conchas Dam, N.M.
Casey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Bustos Jimenez of Tucumcari; 4 children of Tucumcari, Stephanie Cannon (Jerry), Barbara Jimenez, Casey Jimenez II, and Karl Jimenez (Diana); 11 grandchildren; his older sister, Carolyn Autry of Albuquerque, N.M.; many nephews, nieces, extended family, and his beloved dogs, Benji, Sassy, and Koree.
Casey is preceded in death by his parents, Blas and Lala Jimenez; his sister, Mary Lou Ballard; brothers, Allen Jimenez, Blas Jimenez Jr, and Eufracio Jimenez.
Rosary services will be Thursday, January 7, 2016, at 7:00 pm, and Mass of the Resurrestion will be Friday, January 8, 2016, at 2:00 pm. Both will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari, N.M. Services will be also included for his sister, Mary Lou Ballard, who passed away Monday, December 28, 2015.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest donations be made to Helping Hands Hospice, 624 S. 2nd St. Tucumcari, N.M. 88401.
