Chappy "Robert P." Libby Services: Have been held. Chappy "Robert P." Libby, 71, of Bueyeros, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, in Clayton. Mr. Libby was born July 10, 1934, in Clayton to Norman Winfield Libby and Esther Libby. He attended school in Clayton. He later graduated from Kemper Military Academy in Boonville, Mo., and went into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. After returning from the war, he attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo., then returned to Bueyeros, where he ranched for the rest of his life. Mr. Libby was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Ross Libby and Fred M. Libby. He is survived by one brother, Norman Libby (wife Wendy) of Bueyeros; three sisters, Esther Marie Levis (Mike) of Santa Fe, Tuda Crews (Jack) of Bueyeros and Mary Campbell (Doug) of Bueyeros; three sons, Robert Libby Jr. (Kelly) of Santa Anna, Texas, Fre Libby (Beth) of New Castle, Texas, and Karl Libby (Lisa) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Liz Burns (Jimmy) of Nara Visa and Brittney Libby of League City, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Derek Burns, Kirk Burns, Alissa Libby, Ashlee Burns, Nikolaus Libby, Phillip Libby, Taylor Libby, Isabelle Libby, Conner Libby, Matthew Libby and Garrett Libby. John Shedlock officiated services. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bueyeros, care of the First National Bank of Clayton, or to Union County General Hospital, 301 Harding St., Clayton, NM 88415. Arrangements were by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
