Shortly after she took a job teaching in the English department at the Clovis branch of Waylon Baptist University and continued until her health declined in 2009.
Cindy was a hard worker and also a compassionate volunteer. She spent her free time serving in many capacities including the Tucumcari hospice, Hope Center, and especially San Jon Baptist Church where she was a member and pianist for many years.
