Dana Evans Elliott (age 64) passed away on November 1, 2013, at the Albuquerque VA Hospital. Dana was a member of a pioneering Quay County family that came to the Tucumcari area prior to statehood. Dana attended the Tucumcari School System through eleventh grade and would have graduated from THS with the class of 1967. Dana received disability from the Veterans Administration for Agent Orange contamination as a result of service in the US Marine Corp in Vietnam.

Dana Elliott was preceded in death by his parents John A. Elliott and Maxine Blitz Elliott and a sister, Margaret Lee Hoffman. Dana is survived by brothers John (Jay) Elliott and his wife Becky, William (Bill) Elliott and his wife Debbie Elliott and Reece Elliott. Also surviving Dana are his step mother Frances Elliott and best friend Linda Busick together with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dana split his time between Albuquerque and Conchas Dam and requested cremation with his ashes to be spread from the Sabinoso Bridge.
