Donaciano Enrique Gutierrez
Donaciano "Chano" Enrique Gutierrez, 79 of Midland, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at his residence. He was born on July 15, 1934, in Mexico to the late Donaciano Sr. and Ildefonsa Gutierrez.
Chano met and later married Maria Gallegos in Logan, NM in 1959. He had worked for the State of New Mexico for five years before moving to Midland, TX in 1966. Chano worked in the Agriculture field and then later worked as a truck driver and mechanic.
In his spare time, Chano enjoyed playing pool and cards. He also enjoyed being with his family, making everyone laugh with his jokes. Chano loved to dance. But most of all, he loved his family. He was everyone's TATA!
Chano was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Maria G. Gutierrez of Midland; two sons, Eddie Cordova and Onesimo (Chapo) Gallegos both of Midland; four daughters, Ruby Gilmore of Casa Grande, AZ, Cora Gallegos of Logan, NM and Teresa Luera and her husband Gilbert Luera, Virginia Collazo and her husband Jerry Collazo both of Midland. Chano is also survived by three sisters, Arminda G. Orosco of Ojinaga, Chihuahua MX and Zoila G. Arsiaga and Teresa G. Rangel both of Midland; six grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, twenty-five great-great grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Funeral mass is set for Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church with Father Gilberto Rodriguez officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Gilbert Luera Jr, Jr Cepeda, Jerry Collazo Jr., Anthony Collazo, Alejandro Salinas and Pablo Villanueva. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Melendez, Ernest Gutierrez, Omar Gutierrez and Gustavo Sanchez.
