Our sweet mother, Evelyn Kay Trousdale, 69, passed away at home in the early hours of September 29, 2018, after fighting an extended illness. She was born January 13, 1949, in Portales, N.M. to Ed and Fay Guhl Rierson. Kay married Mickey Trousdale on April 29, 1966, in Tucumcari, N.M. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she was the pianist/organist for over fifty years. Kay was adventurous and loved to go to girls camp. She spent 27 years hiking through the mountains, repelling down cliffs, and making wonderful memories. Kay worked for many years as a care taker of the LDS church. She also worked as a CNA with Tucumcari home health where she blessed the lives of numerous members of the Tucumcari community. Kay loved to work with her hands and spent her time gardening, building and refinishing furniture, baking and decorating cakes, and sewing. She was an avid quilter and spent countless hours creating beautiful quilts that she gave away to family and friends. Kay was treasured in life and will be missed dearly.
